Should I soak my seeds in water?Updated 2 months ago
We don’t recommend soaking as the primary method. Extended soaking can over-hydrate seeds, reduce oxygen to the embryo, and lead to weak or misshapen taproots when moved to the medium.
Better approach
- Use the paper towel method for controlled moisture and oxygen.
- If you prefer to pre-soak, limit to 6–12 hours max, then move to paper towels until the taproot emerges.
Whether you soak briefly or not at all, the key is warm, steady conditions and avoiding excess water.
