My seeds didn’t germinate, what should I do?Updated 2 months ago

Quick checks

  • Time & temp: Keep at 70–90°F (21–32°C) and allow up to 7 days.
  • Moisture: Towels should be damp, never waterlogged. Add a light mist if they start to dry.
  • Darkness: Cover plates to hold humidity and exclude light.
  • Handling: Don’t touch the taproot; use sanitized tweezers and plant root-down.
  • Medium: Avoid compaction; cover lightly so sprouts can push through.

If you still see no progress

  1. Extend the window another 24–48 hours while keeping conditions steady.
  2. If a shell is stuck on a sprout, a tiny drop of water and gentle nudge with sterilized tweezers can help—do not force it.
  3. Try a fresh paper towel set if towels have become contaminated or overly saturated.
